When you think about Pseudo, do you ever imagine it in combination with other kratom alkaloids or adaptogens? Perhaps you’ve seen blends of three kratom alkaloids or two kratom alkaloids with an adaptogen. If it’s so great, then why should there be any other active ingredients?
By itself, Pseudo is a 7-OH alternative and a powerful mood booster and pain reliever in its own right, but in combination has a broader range of effects. We also say it has a broader kratom alkaloid profile with strong mu-opioid binding and serotogenic effects.
You should already be familiar with Pseudo by itself as a standalone product so you can best understand its effects and then in combination. Following are some common Pseudo specialty combinations and understanding how to select one for your lifestyle goals.
What Each Botanical Does to You
MIT
When people think of kratom products, they often refer to mitragynine. MIT for short, it comprises about ⅔ of the total alkaloids within the kratom leaf. Although there is also full-spectrum kratom, MIT is the exact ingredient taken as an extract to manufacture into the final product or incorporate into a formula blend. Choose MIT when you want energy and focus.
7-OH
Although 7-OH, short for 7-hydroxymitragynine, is often available with kratom or mitragynine products, it’s a very different substance to deal with. Deceptively present in tiny amounts within kratom leaves, it becomes a potent analgesic and mood enhancer. At low doses, some people even get a burst of energy. 7-OH is also a metabolite of mitragynine after the liver pass-through, contributing to its overall effects.
Pseudo
Short for pseudoindoxyl mitragynine, Pseudo is a rearrangement of 7-hydroxymitragynine, but also a metabolite of it through mitragynine. This process makes it synthetic, changing its pharmacology for the user – in the case of Pseudo, it can substitute for 7-OH without the peaks and valleys, nausea, respiratory depression, drowsiness, and other side effects.
Kava
Also sometimes called kava-kava, this bitter root has a mild psychoactive or intoxicating effect that makes for the perfect alcohol alternative that’s actually functional for situational social anxiety. Often combined with kratom to offer a balance of presence with calm, social approachability and mood enhancement.
Specialty Combinations
Now that you’ve got the idea of how each botanical works by itself, we can go over their effects when together in various ways (by the way, they’re most available as tablets):
7-OH + Pseudo
When you enjoy 7-OH but not the side effects and don’t want to totally give it up in favor of an alternative, 7-OH + Pseudo is a possible option. Pseudo is a definitive 7-OH alternative (it came afterwards and derives from 7-OH), and it has more tolerable side effects and legality. By itself, 7-OH has peaks and valleys in its effects as they ebb and flow. Adding Pseudo allows for greater stability to keep things on an even keel. People can also use this combination to transition from 7-OH to Pseudo.
Pseudo + MIT
Let’s be honest, Pseudo does feel grounding, but it could be overkill for some people, especially with the pain relief and potential drowsiness. The fact that mitragynine binds weakly to the mu-opioid receptor agonist doesn’t mean it’s a weak botanical, either – it has effects on energy and focus depending on the dose. Pseudo + MIT is likely going to be 50/50, but don’t quote me on that. Adding MIT to Pseudo offers mental clarity with physical presence, as well as the option of transitioning from Pseudo to MIT or kratom.
7-OH + Pseudo + MIT
A decidedly smoother combination than 7-OH + Pseudo, which is 50/50; 7-OH + Pseudo + MIT is divided into thirds, although not necessarily proportionate. The result is that the user will get a broad alkaloid profile and affect opioid receptors in multiple ways at once. Pain + mood + Pain + body + Mind come together in this useful combination, which can also serve to decrease tolerance from 7-OH.
Pseudo + Kava + MIT
Whereas Pseudo + MIT makes for a smoother experience with MIT, Pseudo + Kava + MIT focuses on relaxation and social ease. This is a functional alcohol alternative with pain relief so that discomfort won’t ruin your good times. Concentrated kratom alkaloids (Pseudo, 7-OH) can make you drowsy, and with the kava, you’d normally have to watch out, but the MIT adds energy and focus to make up for it.
No Confusion, Just Straightforward Options
To decide on a specialty combination (or not): Think of the lifestyle or routine you want to enhance. Then, take a risk assessment of single botanicals and then the combinations, considering tolerance and dependence risks. Any Pseudo combination will have less risk when mitragynine is in the mix, since it’s considered the mildest kratom alkaloid. You should be aware of at least one single botanical before trying a specialty product – for your safety and sobriety, considering side effects like respiratory depression, drowsiness, and nausea.
Also, have you heard of Oxonol? It’s Real Botanicals’ proprietary enhanced kratom alkaloid blend with 7-OH, MGM15, and mitragynine. They’ve also got a blowout sale until the 7-OH federal ban takes effect in August, so take advantage of available 7-OH, Pseudo, and Oxonol with free shipping.
