There are many kratom combinations that exist, but not all are great or even good. The thing is, kratom cannot be put into combination with other botanicals willy-nilly. The other botanicals need consideration for effects and potential cross-interactions, and that means safety. I’m not just talking about testing for impurities – I mean consideration of the ingredients themselves.
Here, I’ve found 7 kratom-derived alkaloid combinations available in the market today. Some are a common combination, while others are a rare diamond in the rough. Check out which of these 7 make the cut and which ones don’t.
Why Do Kratom-Derived Alkaloid Combinations Exist?
Some of the reasons why there’s a demand for combinations of kratom-derived alkaloids in the best of cases. Ideally, a safe formulation from a reliable vendor that would be a wish come true:
- Fewer side effects
- Greater legality
- Enhanced effects
- Complementary effects
- Unique sociability, energy, or relaxation
- Unique pain relief
Without further ado, let’s get into the list.
7-OH + Pseudo Tablets
Pseudo is a 7-OH alternative that’s made by rearranging 7-OH into an even more potent form. By combining 7-OH + Pseudo, you get two powerful opioid-like analgesics of a milder one and a stronger one. The fact that they’re both strong agonists (binders) at mu-opioid receptors is a big No, although this combo is said to have a synergistic effect; it’s overwhelming. It’s best to choose one or the other, or alternate responsibly.
The verdict: Honestly, I hated this combo. My stomach was nauseous, but I didn’t get sick until 12 hours later after I had drank some coffee. Hard pass, unless you’re an experienced user looking for a 7-OH alternative that’s more grounding and nuanced.
Kratom + Kava + 7-OH Shots
You’d think kratom + kava shots were the bees knees, but somewhere, people are buying kratom + kava + 7-OH shots. Even with just kratom + kava combos, they’re supposed to be an infrequent thing. And they’re somewhat intoxicating, so they’re best for nighttime use when you don’t have anything important to do. Add 7-OH and you’re ready to pass out!
The verdict: I don’t think so. Kratom + kava combinations are fine by themselves, I promise. They’re even better if they have additional botanicals that aren’t opioid-like.
Kratom + 7-OH + Pseudo Tablets
7-OH and Pseudo again? Together with kratom? I just don’t know. Since 7-OH + Pseudo was pretty bad, I’m thinking the addition of kratom could make it milder. Then again, there’s still the issue of receptor stacking – what others would claim is synergy.
The verdict: Not sure – probably No, to be on the safe side.
MGM15 + Pseudo Tablets
This is a lot like the 7-OH + Pseudo combo, but even stronger. That’s because MGM15 is a lab-modified derivative of 7-OH, making it sem-synthetic. Chemically, it’s dihydro-7-hydroxymitragynine, and it’s supposed to be more potent and longer-lasting than 7-OH.
The verdict: No. Again, I recommend choosing one or the other, alternating or rotating responsibly.
MIT + 7-OH Tablets
MIT might look like an abbreviation, but it’s just short for mitragynine, the predominant kratom alkaloid and one of the primary ones. It partly binds to mu-opioid receptors, but less so than 7-OH. This combo works well because it’s smooth, and has less of the nausea issues that 7-OH tends to bring on. It has a smooth onset, a good peak, and a smooth transition back to baseline.
The verdict: Yes. A “best of both worlds” situation and a 7-OH alternative.
Kratom + Kava Shots
Looking for an alcohol alternative? Are you a fan of kratom or kava and are curious about them together? Then you’re in luck, because kratom + kava shots are a winner. Alcohol doesn’t have to be the drink that brings people together if you’ve got this handy. Take it in the evening before socializing and wake up to no hangover.
The verdict: Yes. Helpful, but not for frequent use.
Oxonol Tablets
A proprietary enhanced kratom alkaloid blend by Real Botanicals, Oxonol is one of the few kratom combos that does it right. That’s because Real Botanicals has their own private lab for precise formulation and testing and an advanced, patented ChromaPure technology that does extraction and purification at once.
With this blend, you get MGM15, 7-OH, mitragynine, speciogynine, and speciociliatine. It works because of the strict quality control and the utmost scientific understanding of chemistry, so you don’t have to worry about unpredictable effects.
The verdict: Yes. A 7-OH alternative with greater legality and fewer side effects.
Final Thoughts
One of my concerns with kratom-derived alkaloid combinations is a phenomenon known as receptor stacking. It’s when you have two or more substances that are either competing for the same receptor sites, resulting in redundancy or antagonism. Effects get reversed, limited, or increased with regards to tolerance, dependence, and abuse.
Another concern is the risk of serotonin syndrome. It’s an overload of serotonin that has precisely the opposite effect of what you wanted in the first place. We’re talking about overwhelming effects on the brain and body that’s a medical emergency. It’s not hard to accidentally overdose when you’re dealing with a strange combination of kratom-derived alkaloids.
That’s why I look for reliable vendors with premium-quality products. Real Botanicals is a top vendor that’s manufacturer-direct, making them fully responsible and unable to pass the buck. Their commitment to wellness and scientific understanding of chemistry makes them trustworthy.
