7-OH and Alternatives: Recommended Dosages

Posted by

7-Hydroxymitraganine, derived from the Kratom plant, is a powerful opiate that can act upon a wide array of effects for its user. In short, the Alkaloid is very closely associated with the likes of Morphine, which are primarily used as pain management tools in controlled, legal environments, such as in a hospital. The long of it is that 7-OH is produced in very small amounts within the Kratom leaf. The amount is so small, in fact, that consuming grounded, youthful Kratom leaves within a reasonable dosage would leave the user being entirely unaffected by the 7-OH in the first place. But because the effects of the alkaloid are so powerful, vendors have taken to task producing their own purified forms of the drug, or selective, in-house alternatives.

7-OH and it’s respective alternatives, which very from vendor to vendor, are products that aren’t to be taken without a fair amount of preparation and research before hand. What works for one user as a pain management tool will not work for another as a recreational tool, and vice versa. To boot, these variables are made all the more complicated when considering how dosage can make or break whether or not 7-OH or one of its alternatives are effective for their wanted use-case.

7-OH, despite it’s lack of fame in comparison to more traditional pain-management drugs, has a fairly nailed-down dosage to effect ratio that most users abide by. It’s important to remember that when we or anyone else reminds you that exceeding 10 milligrams shouldn’t be done, the advice is given for a reason: at that point you’re likely addicted, and are consuming an amount of 7-OH that can very possibly lead to massive health complications, if not an overdose.

Below is a list of 7-OH’s recommended dosages and their effects;

  • .5 – 1 milligram: Slight effect of improved mood, maybe some light pain relief, but no guarantees on that front. This dosage is excellent for new users to test out their body’s response to the alkaloid without delving past the shallow end.
  • 2 – 4 milligrams: The previous dosages effects, but increased. While still considered a light dosage by most standards, the pain relief will be much more noticeable and the mood improvement will be enough to encroach on “euphoria” territory. Low risk of tolerance buildup and dependency issues in this range so long as taken with scarcity.
  • 5 – 7 milligrams: A moderate to high dosage. The effects of 7-OH within this dosage will be akin to what the alkaloid is predominantly advertised at doing: relieving anxieties, creating a sense of euphoria, relieving even strong pain, and aid users in falling asleep later in the day. At this dosage, risks of tolerance buildup and dependency development become more pronounced, and responsible usage becomes extremely important.
  • 8 – 10 milligrams: The highest dosage that can be recommended to experienced users before the risk of repository issues, addiction, and eventual withdrawal increase significantly. This dosage should generally be reserved for users who don’t experience the kind of pain management they’re seeking, but also understand that they won’t need said pain relief for more than the next 2 to 3 days at most.

7-OH Alternatives;

Oxonol is a 7-OH alternative produced by Real Botanicals, and acts as a variant on the 7-OH formulation to aid user’s who want something different or something that’s legal in more jurisdictions that 7-OH tends to be. MGM-15 and Mitragynine (Kratom plant alkaloid) combine to make something altogether different that what can be expected from 7-OH by itself.

The tablets sold by Real Botanicals come in 30MG and 60MG selections, which points to the recommended dosage by itself; with a score in the middle to halve these dosages. While you can gain a 15MG dosage by breaking the tablet apart by the score, there’s nothing wrong with halving that amount with a knife to really test the waters on a low dosage.

In general, though, 15MG to 60MG is recommended given the vendor’s listed dosages.

Psuedo is the last alternative we’re going to look at. This compound is made up of Mitragynine PsuedoIndoxyl (MP). One benefit of Psuedo over Oxonol as a 7-OH alternative is the scoring of the tablet, which already has the one-fourth access easily made for users who want smaller dosages to test the waters.

Generally speaking, though, keep the dosage at or below 50mg (one tablet) and feel free to halve or quarter each tablet to get an accurate dosage for your needs.
